Another Beautiful Soul Succumbs to Agony
In Pickerington, Ohio, a 15-year-old girl took her own life last week.
Her name was Cora Delille.
In a brief but heartbreaking suicide note, she simply wrote, “Thanks for all the pain.”
She was so young.
This didn’t have to happen.
She struggled greatly in her life. She was unsure if her own mother loved her. Her boyfriend dumped her the night before she died. Others at school bullied her brutally, mercilessly.
In the end, her soul simply said, enough.
Of course, as is always the case, the bullies who drove her to this tragic, desperate act will never be held accountable. They will be allowed to live out their lives, have careers, marry and have children (if they so choose), and enjoy their retirement.
Cora deserved the same.
She deserved to be happy, to feel joy and wonder and love.
She deserved to follow her bliss and live the life of her dreams.
She deserved to thrive.
It breaks my heart to know that she will never get to do these things, while those who crushed her to pieces will do whatever they feel like.
Cora, wherever you are, I hope you can hear me. I hope you know that, no matter how agonizing and unbearable your life was, you were loved. And I hope that now, having shed your scarred body, you are immersed in the deepest peace you have ever felt.
You deserve nothing less.
Rest in peace–and be well.
